I’m a writer based in Chicago
(or wherever I can carry my laptop), with experience in academic, creative, and technical writing and editing.

Copywriting

Queue Brand Communications
2021 – Today

From summer intern, to Junior Copywriter, to Copywriter (no more qualifying “Junior”), Queue Brand Communications has seen me through my entry into the workforce.

At Queue, I collaborate with a close-knit team of creatives to develop campaigns that cut through clutter. I’ve written print, digital, and social one-off ads, campaigns, and content for a variety of clients in the food and wellness spaces.

B2B, B2C, B2B2C…name an acronym, I’ve written for it.
With impeccable grammar, of course.

Academic Writing and Editing

I also have experience in graduate-level academic writing and editing. My undergraduate studies in English and creative writing at the University of Illinois introduced me to the British Romantics, whose works I continued to study at the University of Oxford. While there, I completed an MSt thesis exploring human transgression and the natural sublime in the works of Wordsworth, Coleridge, and Blake.

I returned to academia in 2023 to complete an interdisciplinary MA degree at Arizona State University. During my studies, I worked as an Assistant Editor for the American Literary History Online Review, a digital academic journal published through Oxford University Press. I also completed a thesis examining the causes and effects of censorship on South Africa’s literary scene during Apartheid, particularly on dissident fiction and its authors.

I have a passion for storytelling. And people crave stories.

Whether I’m crafting a brand identity, selling a product or service, analyzing ideas, or documenting my latest travels stream-of-consciousness-style, I bear in mind that stories help us connect with one another. Isn’t connection the goal?

When I’m not typing away in a Google Doc, you can find me swimming in the lake, trying new restaurants, listening to live music, or playing pickleball.
